Drawn cup needle roller bearing is composed of an outer ring drawn from a thin steel plate by precision drawing, needle rollers and a cage assembled in the outer ring after the raceway surface thereof was hardened. Of the bearings with the outer ring, this bearing type is a bearing with the smallest section height which enables space-saving and cost-saving.
Usually, the design is so made as to use a shaft as the direct raceway surface without using the inner ring. The outer ring of this bearing type is of such a construction that the needle rollers and the cage are not separated from one another so that the bearing is only press-fitted in a rigid housing with proper fit torque. Thus, this bearing type needs no snap ring, etc. to fix itself in the axial direction and, in addition, is easy to handle.
Low cross section
In applications where less space is available, drawn cup needle roller bearings enable downsizing.
High load carrying capacity and stiffness
Owing to their large number of rollers, drawn cup needle roller bearings have a high load carrying capacity and stiffness.
NRB Bearing is one such friction solution provider that develops bearings from design to delivery. NRB is proud of the hard-earned reputation of being one of the leading retailers, stockists and suppliers of all things bearings. NRB’s line of stock spans different kinds of tapered roller bearings, thrust needle roller bearing, drawn cup needle roller bearings and other special ball bearings for a wide variety of engineering, industrial and automotive applications. Built on world-class engineering and manufacturing infrastructure in India, NRB is recognised as the most trusted name in the design and production of customized friction solutions
With an aim to achieve a higher level of precision in designing, today bearing manufacturers in India like NRB Bearing is using techniques to improve the smoothness of the bearings. A greater level of importance is aid on the testing of the bearings and a company like NRB is increasing investments in research and development (R&D) to produce bearing designs as per requirements.
In 2000 NRB established a dedicated Engineering & Design Centre at Rabale, which has since been recognized by the Indian Department of Science & Technology as a world-class research and development facility. Over the past decade, the Engineering & Design Centre has remained on the cutting edge, and it is equipped with state-of-the-art design and modelling software, benchmarking equipment, and testing and simulation facilities.
